Collection: Wiring

Wiring consists of cables, flexible tubes, connectors, and wiring harnesses that transmit power, signals, or steam within an appliance. When a cable breaks, a connector burns out, or a steam tube loses its seal, the appliance stops functioning even if all other components are intact. Here you will find original wiring for irons, steam generators, coffee machines, food processors, vacuum cleaners, and other appliances from leading brands.

Types of wiring

Flexible steam tubes (irons and generators)

In steam generators like Polti Vaporella and Braun CareStyle, the flexible tube serves a dual purpose: it transports steam from the boiler to the iron and carries the power wires for the iron. They are made from heat-resistant and pressure-resistant material. Over time, the outer sheath hardens, cracks, or punctures, causing steam leaks or short circuits. The length varies depending on the model (generally 1.5–2 m); always check the number of poles (2 or 3) before purchasing.

Cables and connectors for electronic boards (PCB)

Food processors, super-automatic coffee machines, and electric pressure cookers contain control boards connected by small flat cables or bundles of wires with pressure connectors. They are low-voltage components but critical: an oxidised connector or a pulled pin can cause intermittent malfunctions or total failures that are difficult to diagnose without a multimeter. PCB cables are highly model-specific: they are not interchangeable between different brands and often not even between different models of the same brand.

Flowmeter cables

In De'Longhi super-automatic coffee machines (Magnifica series), the flowmeter measures the amount of water dispensed in each cycle. It is connected to the board via a dedicated cable of precise length (440 mm in the Magnifica ECAM290). Damaged wiring can lead to incomplete dispensing or auto-diagnostic errors such as blocking the heating cycle.

LED indicators and signalling wiring

On simpler coffee machines (De'Longhi Icona, Vintage), the status indicators (red for heating, green for ready) are connected to the board via a small bundle of cables. A broken indicator does not compromise the operation of the machine but makes it impossible to know if it is ready for use, and it is easily replaceable.

Power cables for motors

In electric pasta machines like Imperia PastaFacile, the power cable is a standalone component, replaceable separately from the motor. This is useful when the cable suffers mechanical cuts caused by repeated contact with the running machine.

Battery cables and connectors for cordless vacuums

In Rowenta Air Force vacuum cleaners, the internal wiring connects the battery to the control board and the motor. With heavy use, the connectors can loosen or oxidise, causing power loss or intermittent starts even with a fully charged battery.

How to identify the correct wiring

Wiring is among the most model-specific spare parts. To order the right one, you need:

  • Exact brand and model of the appliance (label on the bottom or back)
  • Spare part code, if readable on the original wiring (often printed on the connector or sheath)
  • Length of the cable, where relevant (e.g. flowmeter cables or steam tubes)
  • Number of poles for steam tubes of generators (2 or 3 poles)

If in doubt, a photo of the original wiring and the model of the appliance is sufficient to identify the correct spare part.

Most common problems and solutions

💨Steam leak along the flexible tube → sheath punctured or cracked, replace tube
Iron/generator does not turn on → broken cable or short circuit in steam tube
🔌Food processor intermittently freezes → oxidised or pulled PCB connector
Coffee machine does not dispense or blocks the cycle → damaged flowmeter cable
💡Ready indicator absent on coffee machine → burnt LED or indicator wiring
🔋Cordless vacuum turns off with charged battery → loose battery/board connector cable

FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions

Can I repair the steam tube of my Polti with insulating tape?

It is not advisable. The tube carries steam at high temperature and pressure: a tape repair does not guarantee long-term sealing and can create risks of burning or short circuit if the internal electric cable is exposed. Complete replacement of the tube is the correct intervention, technically simple and at a lower cost compared to the risk of more serious damage.

Are the tubes of Braun CareStyle 3 and CareStyle 5 interchangeable?

No. Although both are Braun CareStyle, the double tube of CareStyle 3 (IS3022/IS3024) has a different code from that of CareStyle 5 (IS5145/IS5155). The length and terminal connectors may differ. You need to order the specific wiring for your series.

How do I know if the problem is the flowmeter cable and not the pump?

If the machine heats up regularly but does not start dispensing or stops immediately, with the pump not starting at all, the flowmeter cable is one of the first components to check. If the pump is heard working but water does not come out, the problem is more likely in the pump itself or the dispensing group. A technician can confirm the diagnosis by measuring the continuity of the cable with a multimeter.

Does the Rowenta Air Force battery connector cable require soldering for replacement?

It depends on the point of failure. The extension connector cable between the battery and the board is attached via pressure connectors on both sides: replacement does not require soldering and can be done by disassembling the vacuum and removing the old cable. If the cable is soldered directly to the battery terminals, some experience with a soldering iron is needed. Contact us if you have doubts about the type of intervention required.

Can I replace only the wiring of the Cookeo without changing the board?

Yes, if the board is intact. The Cookeo connector wiring is a separate component: it connects the board to the heating body of the pot. If the malfunction is caused by the cable (oxidation, mechanical breakage) and not by the board itself, replacing only the wiring solves the problem at a much lower cost compared to the complete board.

How do I disassemble the Rowenta Steam Clean to replace the wiring?

On our blog, you will find repair guides with step-by-step photos for the main Rowenta models. In general, the Steam Clean is disassembled by removing the screws on the bottom of the machine body, separating the front panel, and removing the wiring connectors with a spudger or toothpick to avoid damaging the retention tabs. No soldering required.
